And just like that I am back to blogging again. Starting a new and exciting, yet very demanding job, and finishing my master thesis, resulted in me neglecting my blog. With the current situation however, I have plenty of time and a need for a creative outlet. So with that I have a few travels from the past year I want to share with you all.

Last summer I spoke to one of my best friends, who told me she would sign off the ship in Copenhagen. I, of course, decided to make the trip there to catch up with her. As it was a last minute decision in the middle of summer, flights were expensive so I took the boat instead.

Oslo fjord

One of my favorite things about Oslo is the fjord, so I braved the rainy weather and stayed out on deck for most of the sail out. Passing boats, seaside cabins, summer camps and even a fortress, you never run out of things to look at. I had so much fun taking photos of everything, especially with the moody lighting of the clouds. In the end it got too cold and rainy, so I went inside to explore the ship.

Nyhavn

We arrived in sunny Copenhagen the next morning. After disembarking and checking in to my hotel, I explored the town for a while before meeting up with my friend. One of my favorite places in Copenhagen is Nyhavn, with pretty colorful houses next to the ocean. It is a major tourist attraction, and was super busy when I was there – but it was still a good trip.

Tivoli Gardens

The next day I met up with family at the Tivoli Gardens, another of my favorite spots in Copenhagen. A lot of people think of this as an amusement park – but it is so much more than that. I love all the different restaurants, the park areas and the animals walking around – oh and people watching of course.

Frederiksberg Gardens and Amager Beach

We also spent a day enjoying the outdoors. Starting the day at the Frederiksberg Gardens where we explored the different pathways with the waterways, bird life and various buildings. We also found a spot perfect for reading and enjoying the sunshine. As we were leaving we passed by a part of the park where you could see into the elephant enclosure of the nearby zoo. We finished off the day with a trip to the beautiful Amager beach.

Christiania

On the last day we decided to visit Christiania – a place most known for the open drug trade. I was sceptical at first, but was quickly taken with the charm of the place. We explored all the small workshops, and I was in awe of all the creativity. Christiania is definitely a place I will visit again.
