As a kid I was the pickiest eater, that is until we moved to France and a waiter told me off for ordering a well done steak. After that I have become self proclaimed foodie. When traveling I love sampling the local cuisine, and at home there are just so many restaurants to try. That being said one of the restaurants I keep coming back to is Cafe Llorca in Vallauris.

Cafe Llorca, Vallauris, France - Market

The restaurant is located on the market square

Cafe Llorca is a restaurant run by the the Michelin star chef Alain Llorca. Being born and raised in the South of France, he also draws on his Catalan heritage when it comes to creating spectacular dishes. While his Michelin star restaurant is located in La Colle-sur-Loup, Cafe Llorca has a Bib Gourmand classification – meaning great food at more reasonable prices. At Cafe Llorca the menu changes every week, there is a lunch version for EUR 26 per person and a dinner menu for EUR 32 per person.

Cafe Llorca, Vallauris, France - Menu

The a la carte menu

For this visit the menu was pretty straightforward, other menus have included foods such as rabbit. For starter we had a seared tuna salad. From the smell to all the different flavours of the salad itself, it was an amazing dish! As a main course we had proc belly and risotto, as someone who does not really enjoy proc, this was not the best dish. That being said, the risotto was really good. The best part of a meal at Cafe Llorca is the dessert, where you get to choose from a big display of equally delicious desserts. I decided to go for chocolate cake, which was pure chocolatey awesomeness!
